28 August 2019 Sinara-Transport Machines and Plasser&Theurer Signed Memorandum of Understanding

Within the framework of the PRO//Motion.Expo international railway fair, Sinara-Transport Machines and Austrian railway equipment manufacturer Plasser&Theurer have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document was signed by STM Holding General Director Viktor Lesh, P&T CEO Johannes Max-Theurer and Chief Sales Officer Thomas Schöpf.

In accordance with the Memorandum, the parties determined areas of joint business development in the field of railway engineering: from adapting existing Austrian technologies at Russian production sites of the Holding to supplying high-performance complexes of railway maintenance machines and their components and original spare parts for Russian Railways.

“Our target is to ensure economic efficiency of the railway and increase it over a long period, together with railway experts and partners such as Sinara-Transport Machines. As in the past 50 years, we are absolutely confident that our machines will contribute to sustainable development, quality and efficiency of Russian railways,” CEO of Plasser&Theurer Johannes Max-Teurer said.

Today STM has consolidated its engineering and manufacturing competencies to ensure transition to a new product line, which will not only meet the needs and requirements of Russian Railways, but will also enhance export supplies.

“We meet demand for innovation in all types of equipment and rolling stock today. Plasser&Theurer technologies have established themselves all over the world, and STM has always been a leader in innovative segment of the industry and is interested in expanding its portfolio of infrastructure projects.  Our key task is to offer effective solutions to our customers and produce the best machines in their class. I am confident that by joint efforts we will make a significant contribution to development of the Russian railway industry,” Director General of Sinara-Transport Machines Holding Viktor Lesh said.
