GT1h gas turbine locomotive with electric transmission is designed for operation on non-electrified sections of public railways in the regions of Siberia and the Far North for driving freight trains of increased length and weight.
GT1h consists of two sections equipped with control cabins. One of them contains power plant, the other - necessary supply of fuel.
Advanteges:
-
More capacity with smaller dimensions.
-
Savings due to use of liquefied natural gas as fuel.
-
Environmental impact by reducing emissions into the atmosphere.
-
GT1h was designed on a basis of the unique TEM7A locomotive underframe (manufactured by LTZ JSC).
-
Russian-made gas turbine motor is used as an autonomous energy source of the locomotive.
