EU500-1 is a trailed power plant of alternating current with a capacity of 500 kW and is used to provide power to a direct current electric locomotive in autonomous mode on 1,520 mm railway sections of industrial enterprises outside overhead system.
The power plant has a load from wheel pair on rails 98 kN (10 t) and can travel at a design speed of 16.6 m/s (60 km/h).
